In Utah, we celebrated Pioneer Day on July 24 to remember the pioneers arriving at the Salt Lake valley in 1847. Come, Come Ye Saints is a powerful pioneer hymn.  This morning, while I was getting ready, I listened to President Eyring's talk from the October 2025 General Conference. This excerpt he shared about Jacob in The Book of Mormon struck me. It seemed to relate to me personally, especially since my name IS Jacob. "And behold, in thy childhood thou hast suffered afflictions and much sorrow, because of the rudeness of thy brethren. Nevertheless, Jacob, my firstborn in the wilderness, thou knowest the greatness of God; and he shall consecrate thine afflictions for thy gain.
